Jenny Johnson
Co-Host on NESN-TV's Dining Playbook

Jenny Johnson is an Emmy Award winning Executive Producer, Entertainment and Lifestyle Television Personality, based in Boston, MA in a Top 10 Market.

Both behind and in front of the camera, Johnson’s hard work, dedication and personal nature has helped her become one of New England’s most popular media personalities. Boston Magazine named Johnson as the next Maria Menounous in their Next List and the Boston Globe raved “if the likes of Rachael Ray can find fame on the Food Network, can Johnson be far behind?”

Most recently Johnson started her own production company J. Johnson Production. She partnered with long time Co-Host Billy Costa and NESN to create Dining Playbook offering an inside guide to the best restaurants, nightlife and celebrity chef interviews. Viewers enjoy Jenny’s educational cooking segments, new restaurant features and behind the scenes interview with New England Sports Legends and their dining preferences.

Johnson is the host of “Comcast Newsmakers.” She became New England’s inaugural host in June 2010. These unique local news programs hosted by Johnson, provide viewers with pertinent information from local, state and federal officials, business and community leaders and offer a platform to connect with their constituents. These five minute Comcast Newsmakers segments air on CNN Headline News at :24 and :54 past the hour. Comcast Newsmakers airs in 42 markets across 25 states.

Johnson has become the go to reporter for local films. She was asked to play a TV reporter in the Denzel Washington movie “The Equalizer.” And most recently in Providence playing a reporter in a scene in “Bleed for This,” the Ben Younger-directed, Martin Scorsese-executive-produced biopic of Rhode Island boxer Vinny Pazienza, played by Miles Teller.

From 2005-2013 Johnson was the Executive Producer and Co-Host of NECN’s “TV Diner,” Jenny Johnson is the Entertainment Reporter for NECN, a regular contributor to “The Only News at 9″ and “The Morning Show,” both airing on NECN, she showcases everything from what’s happening in Boston, to the latest celebrity news in Hollywood.

Johnson is involved with numerous charitable organizations. She is an advocate for the Pan Mass Challenge as a three time rider in the 192 mile bike ride to raise money for cancer research through the Jimmy Fund. She emcees and hosts many events throughout the year. As an event facilitator, member of various local and regional boards, event emcee and auctioneer, Jenny has raised thousands of dollars for local and regional non-profit organizations. She is a board member of the BCAE (Boston Center for Adult Education) MRA (Massachusetts Restaurant Association) and is an Overseer for the Boston Ballet

A Massachusetts native, she is a honors graduate from the University of New Hampshire with a degree in Communications. After receiving her degree Johnson spent a summer volunteering at an orphanage in Capetown, South Africa. During her limited spare time, Johnson enjoys traveling, practicing Yoga, Pilates classes, rock climbing and spending time with her family and friends.
